| <>Paradox jazz trio is a 3 piece
consisting of piano, string bass and drums which was originally
conceived by the keyboardist Markku Vuollet back in the mid 80's.
Although Markku was already involved with various other bands, his love
for jazz and the idea to create a trio was at the forefront.
After talking with a few of his friends John Mitchel (string
bass) and Bob Palosi (drums) ( both of them were also
involved with other bands), a trio was formed. For the next few years
they would be playing in the Chicago land area when their other bands
had free time. A few years later, John and Bob were involved in a fatal car accident on their way to a performance. A year later after Markku lost his bass player and drummer, he found replacements. Bob Cramer (string bass) and Jim JJ Jamesen (drums) couple of veteran jazz musicians joined Markku and the trio continued to perform for the next 8 years. They started recording an album called "In The Key of M" and was never completed due to their hectic schedule. Most of their recorded music which were on reel to reel tapes were destroyed in a fire which struck the recording studio on the west side in 1993. The trio broke up in the mid 90's due to illness. Bob Cramer, a heavy smoker suffered with lung cancer. Cramer died in 1996. Markku tried to recruite new members the following year in hopes of continuing with his trio with no luck and ended up working solo. In 1999 Markku could no longer play piano due to severe arthritis in his right hand fingers so he decided to retire. <>Since Markku wrote and owns the rights to their music, he is busy trying to complete the album which he and his colleagues started several years ago using some of his old copies of tapes that were left along with to-days technology. The album should be completed sometime before the end of the year. Markku also started playing guitar in Nov 2005 just to keep playing jazz as this didn't require a lot of strain on his right hand.
